The SGI User Group Conference SGIUG 2009 will be held October 21-23, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas.
We are using a third party registration and submission site. It is the same one we used in the past. You may use the same "user name" and "password" you used last year.

Hotel Reservations

Reservations for the Event must be made by individual attendees ONLINE by Monday, September 28, 2009.

There is a conference rate $159 single/double per night. There are no rooms available at the US Government rate. The conference rate is good 3 days before and after the conference. This includes single or double rooms. Please notify the hotel of any accommodations you may need for any disability you may have.

Complimentary local calls, toll calls within the US and hi-speed Internet for registered guests, in guest rooms. You may need a cat5 wire. Hotel parking is expensive; rates are $25 for self and $33 for valet parking/per day.

Register for the Conference

Early Bird Conference Registration fee of $450 USD ends August 31, 2009.
Regular Conference Registration fee is $500 USD.
This conference will NOT provide breakfast or lunch. Members will be on their own for meals. Light refreshments will be available during breaks.
Note, if you have to cancel your conference registration before September 15, 2009, we will refund 80% of the registration fee. If you cancel after September 15, 2009 we may have to keep additional monies to cover commitments we make with the Hotel in your behalf. After October 21, 2009, we will consider refunds on an individual basis. By registering for the SGI User Group 2008 Conference, you agree to these terms regarding refunds. NO Conference Meals

Transportation

TAXI CAB SERVICE TO/FROM AIRPORT:

Taxi cabs are available at the lower level curbside, outside of baggage claim, at Terminal 1 and at the front curbside of Terminal 2 just outside baggage claim. For assistance, please contact the Airport Ground Transportation Agent wearing an airport badge. Fare to San Antonio downtown areas are approximately $20 to $23 (U.S.) per taxicab. (Up to 4 may share a cab.)
There is also a shuttle that is available. Looks like the cost is $18 per person to downtown hotels or $32 dollars round trip - http://www.sanantonio.gov/aviation/downtownshuttle.asp.

Hotel parking rates are excessive, $25 for self park and $33 for valet parking/per day.

Each hotel guest room has voice mail/messaging capabilities.

Email and Computers

Each hotel guest room has free wired high speed internet included in the room rate. Bring your CAT5 wire.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed in any conference meetings. This Marriott hotel is a non-smoking hotel.

110-120 Volts, 60 cycle standard United States power levels.

Currency

US Dollars are the currency used.
There is an ATM / Cash machine in the hotel. It is located next to the hotel registration desk.

Weather

San Antonio weather in October average highs of 81 and lows of 60F. Precipitation averages 2.5 inches.
The hotel has an indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool. Bring your bathing suit.

Social Events

Wednesday evening, Welcome Reception.
Thursday afternoon and evening, SGIUG Partner Reception.
There will not be a night-out this year.
