Conference Dates
The SGI User Group Conference SGIUG 2006 will
be held June 5-9, 2006 in Las Vegas.

Conference Location
Our conference hotel is the South Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The hotel opened for business on December 21, 2005 and is brand new. Gary Jensen
stayed there on the 7th day the hotel had been open and everything was wonderful.
The food was delicious and the rooms spacious and posh.
The hotel is located ~ 4 miles south of McCarran International Airport.

Group Code SGI0603 for the low conference rates.
There is a conference rate $59 (lowered from $89, the reduced room
rate of $59 is available to the first 100 people that
register before May 3, 2006) per night, Sunday - Thursday, June 4-8, 2006,
Single or Double room. Friday and Saturday nights are $129, after all, this is
Las Vegas. A deposit of 1 night is required and will be charged at the time of
booking. The rates are PLUS 9% tax, but very reasonable considering the quality.
Please notify the hotel of any accommodations you may need for any disability you
may have.
Calculation Policy: Cancel at least 3 days prior to arrival date to avoid a fee
of one night including tax.
Our hotel inspection stay on December 27th showed these rooms are very posh and
very large. The hotel had just opened the week of Christmas 2005, so it is almost
brand new. The Beds are soft and quiet, radio, ironing board and iron, etc. For

Register for the Conference
Early Bird Conference Registration fee of $799 USD
ends May 15th, 2006.
Regular Conference Registration fee is $849 USD.
Note, if you have to cancel your conference registration before June
1, 2006, there will be a Conference Cancellation Fee of $50 USD. If
you cancel after June 1, 2006 we may have to keep additional monies
to cover commitments we will make with the Hotel in your behalf.
After June 5, 2006, we will consider refunds on an individual
basis.
By registering for the SGI User Group 2005 Conference, you agree to
these terms regarding refunds.

Call For Papers
Conference Meals
During the conference (Monday - Thursday) your
registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, and breaks. There will be
refreshments with Lunch. Friday, the conference ends at noon, so no lunch is
provided.
If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know
during registration or at our registration desk at the
conference.

People with Disabilities
The conference organizers will make every effort possible to
accommodate those attending the conference with disabilities. Please
note any needed accommodations when you register for the conference
and register with the hotel.
Airport Information
McCarran International Airport
is located about five (5) minutes drive from the South Coast Hotel.
Taxicabs are available outside on the east side of baggage claim,
outside door exits 1-5. Airport personnel are available on the taxi curb to assist
passengers.
Internet Access: McCarran's free Wi-Fi service gives travelers with Wi-Fi-enabled
computers and PDAs unlimited high-speed access to the Internet 24/7 from virtually
any public area of the airport. For customers traveling without computers,
Internet kiosks are located throughout the hold rooms in the C and D Gates.
Please remember to have proper Identification, passports, etc. with
you at all times.
Transportation

Telephone Messages
Each hotel guest room has voice mail/messaging capabilities.
Email and Computers
Each hotel guest room has wireless and wired high speed internet, but there is a
daily cost of ~$10.95 US.
We are planning on wireless internet access in the meeting rooms as part of the
conference.
There will also be a small email room set up for you to read your email.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not allowed in any conference meetings.
Smoking is permitted in designated areas inside the hotel which includes
the entire casino.
Voltage
110-120 Volts, 60 cycle standard United States power levels.
Currency
US Dollars is the currency used.
There are currency exchange booths at the Las
Vegas airport and the hotel will convert small amounts of currency. Cash-points
/ ATM machines can be found in the airport and hotels. This is a casino and they
will always try to help you have access to your money. All main credit cards are
accepted (with PIN code). The Cashiers booth in the hotel can also help you with
your winnings.
Weather
Las Vegas weather in June is highs of 100F and lows of 69F (38 - 21 C).
The trick is to alternate between the pool and the lounge chair when you are
outside. Remember it is cool inside the hotel, warm outside in the shade, and hot
in the sun. Please dress accordingly.
Social Events
SGIUG will sponsor a reception Monday evening.
SGI will host a Partner Reception on Tuesday evening.
Wednesday is the Conference Night Out. *TBD*
This is included in your conference registration fee.
Thursday night will be open with shuttle bus available to take delegates to the
Barbary Coast Hotel, on the strip.
Bringing companion, Children to the Social Events
Guest tickets to the social events are available at the registration desk and
during on-line registration.
Kids Tyme Child Care Facility located near the 16 screen movie theater and 60+
lane bowling facility, is a welcome feature if you have smaller children. You can
check them in for a few hours of fun for them and for you. There is a fee for
this. When we did it they gave us a beeper and charged us something like $25
deposit until you gave it back.
